This is a mini-conference on the newer advancements in the field of metabolic bariatric surgery and perioperative care and concerns. Topics such as: -- the place of new antiobesity medications in current multimodality management, -- respiratory and musculoskeletal issues in people living with obesity, -- the role of the bariatric surgeon in the the multidisciplinary team, -- the rising problem of weight regain and insufficient weight loss, -- as well as nutritional issues in the post-bariatric patient will be addressed. The event will be held in the Greek language and is intended for healthcare professionals. Its objective is to raise awareness among the medical community on the specificities of obesity and its nature as a chronic, relapsing, progressive but manageable disease.
